The Mother of All Demos

The first personal computer, the first mouse, the first version of the internet (using microwaves), and the first hyperlinks are all demonstrated here: Doug Engelbart's demo. The videos are awesome, but they do a poor job of explaining why. It is such a ground-breaking moment that wikipedia's article about it is called The Mother of All Demos.
